🔐 Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 12, 2021

Who I Am
This site is run by a single retro-tech nerd (hey, that’s me). You’re currently on anotherretroguy.com, a personal site created for educational, archival, and entertainment purposes — primarily focused on gaming kiosks, restoration, and modding projects.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, I collect the data shown in the comments form — plus your IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
If you’re using Gravatar, a hashed version of your email may be passed to them to check for a profile image. Their privacy policy is available here: automattic.com/privacy.
Media Uploads
If you upload images to the site, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS), because other users can download and extract that info.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies. That’s just so you don’t have to retype it next time. These cookies last one year.
If you visit the login page, a temporary cookie checks if your browser accepts cookies — it contains no personal data and goes away when you close the browser.
Logging in sets a few more cookies to save your login info and display settings. These last for 2 days (or 2 weeks if you check “Remember Me”). Logging out removes them.
Publishing or editing a post also creates a cookie with the post ID — no personal data — and it expires in 1 day.
Embedded Content
Some posts may include embedded content (like YouTube videos or tweets). These behave the same as if you visited the other site directly.
Those external sites may collect data, use cookies, and track your interaction with their embedded content — especially if you’re logged in to their platform. So, you know… standard internet stuff.
Who I Share Data With
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email (again — basic WordPress behavior). Otherwise, your data isn’t shared with anyone.
How Long I Keep Your Data
If you leave a comment, it and its metadata are stored indefinitely so follow-up comments can be auto-approved.
If user registration is enabled in the future, your profile data is stored too. You’ll be able to view, edit, or delete it anytime (except usernames). Admins can also see and edit that info.
Your Data Rights
If you have an account or have left comments, you can request a copy of the data we hold about you — or ask that we erase it entirely (excluding anything I’m required to keep for legal/admin reasons).
Where Your Data Goes
Comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service — like Akismet or a similar tool — to keep the junk out.
